Nearing classic status, the R129 Mercedes SL500 is an elegant, capable yet comfortable roadster. Designed and built in an era where Mercedes vehicles were well made and long lasting, these vehicles are in many ways better than the newer models offering less complication and higher durability. This SL is a low mileage example that has been here in North Carolina and garaged for the last 20 years. It's a nice car in good condition for the age. The owner's manual, two keys and the removable hardtop are present. Our preparation for sale began with replacing the convertible top and hydraulic cylinders. A missing hard top, damaged or inop soft top drastically affects the value of these cars so it's definitely important to note that both tops are good on this one. Other items include an oil change, brake fluid flush, new tires, battery, drive belt, air filter, hood pad, valve cover gaskets, rear brakes, front lower ball joints, upper strut mounts, rear lower control arm bushings, spark plugs and front shocks.
