Vehicle Description

1937 Cadillac 7029 Series 70 Convertible Sedan, V8, 3 speed manual. This is Fleetwood body #20 of approximately 40 built. It has a black lacquer exterior and a luxurious black leather interior. The tan top with red trim gives the car an elegant, but sporty look. The car includes Standard Features: cigar lighters, map light, footrests, rear courtesy lights, dual; sidemounts; Correct Accessories (Accessory Group A6): full wheel covers and trim rings, flexible steering wheel, metal sidemount covers, license frames; and special-order Parade Package features: rear tonneau folding windshield, front flag mounts, rear step plates, convertible top with removable back light. In addition, the car is equipped with optional fog lamps. The wheelbase is 131 inches, and the overall length is 200 inches. This was a special-order car delivered in June 1937 to Drucker Cadillac in Trenton, New Jersey. Speculation is that the car was purchased for government/parade use, since Trenton is the New Jersey state capitol, but that has not been verified. It was acquired by the current owner in Punta Gorda, Florida, in 1996, and over 30 years has been meticulously returned to factory-correct condition. All trim pieces are present and correct. The top and upholstery are in excellent condition, and the 1980 paint still shows very well. The engine was professionally rebuilt in 2005, and the engine compartment is correct, and presents well, with the only modifications being the addition of a radiator overflow tank, and an upgrade to Pertronix ignition. The car is currently garaged in North Carolina. The car drives excellently, as a Cadillac should. In third gear with the top down, it becomes almost silent. With bias ply tires and the correct hydraulic lifters in the engine, this car glides along so quietly, you can hear the birds sing. This is an impressive presentation of a rare CCCA full classic; a well-kept and well-sorted car for touring or show. Always an attention-getter at shows, it has room for the whole family on Sunday drives or on tour. It has been featured in a number of magazines, including Antique Automobile (Jan/Feb 2021), and was featured on the 2023 AACA calendar. The car was awarded the AACA Senior trophy in 2021. The car comes with extensive documentation, records, and manuals. Contact Kennith Stewart at 803-283-7289 for more information
